Born in Corneria, Falco Lombardi attended a military academy from a young age, but instead of pursuing a military career, he turned to gang activity until the threat of Andross became clear. The Star Fox team offered Falco a position in the team, which he accepted. As part of the team, he helped in every mission to the very end, the assault on Andross's base. He also faced Leon from the opposing Star Wolf team and winning in both clashes.
After the Lylat Wars, Falco parted ways with the Star Fox team and even joined back with one of his gang member buddies Katt Monroe to investigate strange events occurring in the Titania planet. Fox and Falco would meet once again as General Shears threaten the galaxy's safety by attempting to clone Andross. After this, Falco would join the Star Fox team on a more permanent basis.
First appearing in Super Smash Bros Melee, Falco was a copy of Fox's playstyle, but he began developing its own bespoke character over time. Nowadays, in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Falco is a very dynamic fighter. One of the highest jumps in the game paired with top 15 rankings in other mobility abilities such as dashing and air acceleration means he can quickly and precisely position himself. This enhanced mobility then augments his offensive skills further with extended juggles and a lot of potential for upper-stage knock-offs.
But every coin has two sides. The mobility also makes it much more likely to be an inconsistent fighter that can quickly drain a player after a few sets of concentrating on getting the most from him, resulting in a lack of safe KO options. As such, Falco is generally viewed as a character that is best used to punish the errors of others with its quick movement.
