More about Ike:
Ike is the son of the very famous leader of the mercenary band – Greil. He and his sister Mist have been brought up being a part of this company ever since they were little. At the beginning of the Path of Radiance, the Greil Mercenaries are tasked with the protection of Elincia, the princess of the nation of Crimea, and Ike serves as her personal bodyguard. Some of the band members consider this too high an honor for a green rookie like Ike, so they mock his skills and look down upon him.
Shortly after Ashnard, the Mad King of Daein, begins his conquest, Ike’s father is killed by Zelgius, Deanian general known as Black Knight. Having witnessed this, Ike declares him his sworn enemy, but soon he has more pressing matters to think about, as he learns some dark secrets about his past.
Nevertheless, Ike takes up the mantle of leadership of the Greil Mercenaries in a suicidal bid to try to reclaim Crimea for princess Elincia after Daein conquered it. Some of the company members didn’t take this initiative well, especially from a person they used to make fun of, so they left the company and went about on their own.
Ike’s valiant efforts led to the creation of the Crimean Liberation Army, a coalition army with a singular purpose of liberating the nation of Crimea from the Mad King’s clutches. Soon after, Ike reveals himself to be the wielder of Ragnell, the Divine Blade blessed by the goddess Ashera. With this legendary weapon in hand, Ike strove to lead his people to a better future.
After his exploits in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Ike returns in the direct sequel – Radiant Dawn. There, he’s a less central character, albeit still a crucial one, because the story takes the multiple points of view approach.
Ike also was the first protagonist in the fire emblem not to be noble by his birthright. He shares this trait only with Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
In Smash Ultimate, Ike is considered to be one of the heavyweights: hard to KO, slow-moving and attacking, but boasting high damage and long reach.
