The long-awaited Japanese league is back with a bang and a few new faces
Street Fighter League is one of the most entertaining events on the Capcom calendar every year. 2022 has been a great year for fighting games so far and we get another thing to get excited with following the start of Street Fighter League Japan. The league which used to feature six teams, added two more teams last year and has kept that format for this year's edition.
Street Fighter League Japan will feature eight teams with the winning team taking home a cool 5,000,000 yen while second place takes 2,000,000 and third place, 1,000,000.

Games will take place twice a week, and it will all culminate in a grand final between the two top teams.
Street Fighter League Japan has always been a fun time, and this edition features some new teams like Team iXa with the likes of Gunfight making his debut in this season's league.
In other news, Capcom Fighters have announced two teams for the upcoming Street Fighter League USA. The first team announced was a new team called Team Red Rooster which features MonoPR, HotDog29, Smug, and Ajax Fidelity. This will be their debut, and it will be interesting to see who else will be brought on as a team.
Furthermore, Team UYU will be returning to the league but with an interesting lineup change that gives them a decidedly Asian tilt. The roster for UYU will feature Oil King, Xian, NL, and for the first time, DCQ.
Street Fighter League Japan kicks off today, 6th September 2022, while the USA's iteration of the league starts streaming on the 7th of October 2022. We also await more information about Street Fighter League Europe which was announced a little while ago.
