In the wild forests of the Kalos region, you can meet a very unique frog-ninja — Greninja. The Pokémon was introduced to the world with the sixth generation of these creatures and the game Pokémon X/Y.
Greninjas are very dangerous (like ninjas should be). They are masters of hiding among green leaves and then suddenly attacking with lightning speed. All Pokémon of this species can create their weapon out of compressed water. Their throwing stars are absolutely destructive, and Greninjas use them in Pokémon battles.
In the Pokémon universe, Greninja is the third (and final) evolution form of the starter Froakie. You can get this cute little froggy from Professor Sycamore in Lumiose City at the start of your Pokémon X/Y adventure. Keep training Froakie, and soon the creature will evolve into Frogadier, which is almost of the same cuteness but has a fresh power in his look. Add more intense training with in-game battles, and eventually, you will get Greninja.
The journey of each Pokémon player is different. You create your own team and experience the same story in a specific way. Many trainers decide to stick to their Water-type starter and develop a Water/Dark-type Greninja. This Pokémon is an excellent companion with exceptional fighting skills.
Greninja has become quite popular in the gaming community. He was the main Pokémon of Ash Ketchum in the Pokémon X/Y anime series and one of the creatures in the manga series Pokémon Adventures.
Some other games where you can meet Greninja are:
Pokémon Rumble World
Pokémon Picross
Pokémon Battle Trozei
Pokémon Shuffle
The addition of Greninja as a new fighter to Smash Bros. was pretty unique. Masahiro Sakurai decided to bring this creature into Super Smash Bros. 4 (for 3DS and Wii U) even before the release of Pokémon X/Y, so he had to reserve a spot first and then work with concepts of a new Pokémon.
The frog-ninja returns to the new installment of the Nintendo fighting series, which is pretty logical considering how well Greninja was received by the players.
This character keeps his advantages from the Pokémon games. He is swift and uses a water weapon (kunai instead of katana from Smash 4). The hits of this fighter are strong, and his abilities are versatile. Many players consider Greninja a high or top-tier character. Still, he is not the most accessible one in the Smash roster.
Down Tilt and Dash Attack are good combo starters for Greninja in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In the Final Smash, you can see a different form of this Pokémon, more powerful Ash-Greninja.
