Koji, once receiving a harsh defeat from a newcomer in the Grand Tournament, once said, “Hattori, do you remember the tale of the wise fox spirit and her giant magical hammer? Yeah, ME NEITHER!”
The Valkyries who resided in Valhalla could see that this Blind Seamstress was just a centuries-old fox spirit disguised, though only Half-Valkyries would see a great Valhallan.
In ancient times, the Japanese village of Aoku had lived in peace, located at the edge of the great northern forest, but then the forest had changed. Winter has become harsh, and the cold has always seemed to be flowing directly out of the forest itself; even great wolves had started to approach from the forest, first in duos but then quickly changed into large packs. The forest had now been known as Kiba, The Fang. Something all the villagers of Aoku had come to greatly fear. To the villagers, Yumiko was quite a happy soul, afraid of dogs like the others, and only drew to anger when needlework was poor, although something no villager had known; at age 537, Yumiko had decided to pick up a bow for the first time, going to war with the monsters residing in Kiba forest.
During her first winter, she had rescued a toddler, and in the next, had slain a pack of wolves just to protect the hibernating Tororu. As years passed and the assault from the monsters grew, so did Yumiko’s skills. Years had gone by, and she had taken down an entire Tengu army and even a dragon, though she finally realized she needed to find the source to it all. Exhausted but filled with determination, Yumiko would make her journey deep into the woods of Kiba, finding and battling the evil witch Ukionna to break the curse that had been terrorizing her land for so many years. However, in the final moments of her battle, a valkyrie had appeared out of nowhere, and without speaking a single word, Yumiko would get onto the flying horse and happily slumbered.
Yumiko is joyful to be participating in the tournament, although she feels that her great deed has not been done. In Valhalla, she stays away from Mordex and spends her free time with Scarlet in her workshop; she has even grown a silent bond with Asuri.
Yumiko uses the Bow as her primary weapon, and Yumiko’s Grapple Hammer is her secondary weapon.
The Bow is a weapon greatly suited for aggressive attacks and pressuring your opponent; its hitbox is small but makes up for it with its high damage and quick attacks.
The Grapple Hammer is a heavy weapon with a lack of flowing attacks but is an amazing weapon to punish opponents with heavy damage and knockback. As the name suggests, you can also grapple with it.
Yumiko is generally seen as a great character to play and can be a complete nuisance to face, especially in the right hands.
Yumiko’s stats are more focused on mobility and quick attack rather than soaking damage and high bursts.
The signatures Yumiko has fit her playstyle well with having the ability to move around quickly and space her opponents well.
