When you go on an adventure, this fantastic fire cat might become your good friend. And you know that perfectly well if you have played Pokémon Sun/Moon and got Incineroar into your team. This Fire/Dark type creature is the last evolution form of one of the starter Pokémon in this game — Litten.
Like in all core Pokémon games, players start Sun/Moon from choosing their starter – usually, Pokémon of Water, Grass, or Fyre types. Litten is a cute kitty, and it’s so tempting to take him, treat him to berries, and train his fighting skills in many battles. You’ll meet many other Pokémon in this journey, but if you keep Litten in your team, he will eventually evolve. First, Litten transforms into Torracat, a bit bigger cat with more dangerous claws. Keep taking this new creature to Pokémon fights, and you’ll get Incineroar, who looks like a mighty professional wrestler with an impressive fire belt.
In the original games, Incineroar uses traditional wrestling attacks in combination with his magical fire and dark abilities. He is a nicely-balanced Pokémon, but some players don’t like the lack of specific, especially strong features. Still, if you are not playing Pokémon Sun/Moon competitively, Incineroar might be a perfect member of your roster.
Beyond gaming, you can meet Incineroar in the Pokémon movie I Choose You.
This wrestler cat is almost meant to be added to the Nintendo fighting game series. The original Pokémon game with Incineroar was released in 2016, so the first Smash game with this creature is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Masahiro Sakurai said he wanted to have a proper wrestler in his game, and that’s why he chose this Pokémon.
Incineroar is heavy and has very low movement speed. He is good at close-range fights thanks to his wrestling tricks. The hits of Incineroar are super-mighty, so the main task for the players is to land those powerful blows. Luckily, the character has a decent range of a bit weaker attacks that can be used for combos.
Many Incineroar SSBU combos start with Down Throw or Down Tilt. They are linked to Up Air, Forward Air, Up B, or even Darkest Lariat.
