Biography

As the brother of Jody Sumer, Andy Sumer took on the false identity of Bart Lemming after Jody was nearly killed in an attack orchestrated by the villain Zoda and required extensive cybernetic prosthetics to live on. A law-abiding but mysterious figure in the circuits, Andy continued to race to find more information about Zoda and the Dark Million Organization. Ultimately, Andy would team up with Rick Wheeler to take down Zoda and the Black Shadows, the antithesis of light in the F-Zero universe, and use the Dark Million Organization as a front for their constant battle. After successfully destroying them, at the cost of Andy's life, Wheeler would take on the mantle of Falcon and become the Captain Falcon persona and continue racing in his honor. A space bounty hunter, the pilot of the Blue Flacon, and champion of the F-Zero Grand Prix are only a few of Captain Falcon's accolades.

Captain Falcon is not just an iconic Smash character but a piece of gaming culture that spans decades. The iconic line "Falcon... PUNCH!" is ingrained in the minds of many players all over the world. Appearing in all versions of Smash, he is just as important to be in the game as Mario or Donkey Kong. Although not as competitively viable as more contemporary additions to the roster, Captain Falcon remains a high-risk, high-reward character that will always be ready to put up some delightful highlights when push comes to shove.

His primary drawbacks consist of a terrible recovery from off stage and the fact that many of his attacks will often leave him open to being punished if they do not connect. Most prominently, his air spike, which can leave him falling downwards at high speed off stage if the player dares miss the attack. A Rushdown style with efficient and precise combining is a must for Captain Falcon players in the competitive scene.
