Biography

Biography

Android 21 is a tall bespectacled woman that wears a striking bicolored dress and a scientist uniform. This is her good side, and in it, she’s beautiful and smart. But behind this guise hides her evil side, a villainous Bio-Android created from the cells of Majin Buu, Cell, and Frieza. She was made by the Dragon Ball author Akira Toriyama specifically for this fighting game, and she serves as the primary antagonist of the title.

Much like Cell, she’s a Bio-Android, and therefore possesses insatiable hunger. Android 21 can’t really control her hunger and constantly tries to keep herself from devouring anyone and everything in her path. This hunger damaged her psyche and made her manifest split personalities. If she goes too long without satisfying her appetite, her evil side gains more and more control. The contrast between her two personas is striking – her good side is kind, caring, and gentle, while her evil side is sadistic, sociopathic, and completely insane. It longs to devour all the powerful fighters and gain more and more strength.

Gameplay

Pros & Cons

The most notable trait of Android 21 is her ability to steal the moves of the other fighters: Connoisseur Cut grants her single use of any stolen move. The majority of the steals are much more powerful versions of the originals, and she is even able to chain the copied abilities. This alone makes Android 21 incredibly strong, but her neutral game and mixups are even more terrifying. She can decide how to fight – keep away from the opponent, or close in and mix them up to no tomorrow. The only notable downside, even if it can be called that, is that she needs to spend her meters to perform the best combos. She’s extremely strong if a bit unusual to use.
