Biography

Story

Kazumi trained within Jinpachi Mishima's dojo when she was a young girl. She and Heihachi became bitter rivals while training, which then turned into a love for each other. Or so it seemed. From time to time, Kazumi would seem distant or outright hostile towards Heihachi.

One day, while Heihachi was training in his dojo, Kazumi confronted him. She said that he was becoming a threat to the whole world and that she would stop him. As it turns out, Kazumi is part of the Hachijo Clan, a long lineage of assassins with access to the Devil Gene.

After a gruesome fight, which included Kazumi turning into a devil, Heihachi was victorious. Kazumi would plead to him to let go of her, but Heihachi, having been betrayed once before in that same fight, would snap her neck, killing her.

Soon after, Heihachi would kill off Kuzimi's only child, Kazuya, start his war against Jinpachi, and organize the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Personality

Because she formally bows in one of her introduction animations to her opponent while announcing that she will be their next opponent, Kazumi is portrayed as a person of high honor and formality.

Kazumi also appears to have a strong affinity for animals, which her husband shares. On the other hand, Kasumi has trained a pet tiger that she can summon at will as part of her moveset, whereas Heihachi has trained Kuma and cannot summon him at will, unlike Kazumi.

Playstyle

Kazumi uses a combination of Heihachi's and Kazuya's moves, including vicious punches and hand chops, to defeat his opponents. Her one-of-a-kind ability is the summoning of her pet tiger, which she can do as part of a combo or on her own. It can also be seen after Kazumi performs an uppercut with her tiger in the same scene. She also shares her husband's unstoppable move, though hers is not quite as powerful as his. She also uses a taunt in which she calmly pets her tiger while the fight is going on.

Kazumi is a rock-solid character who can bully, frustrate, and break down opponents with ease. She does, however, have some notable flaws as well. First and foremost, her combo damage is subpar. Furthermore, her fastest launching move has a significantly reduced range, making it ineffective against moves that generate much pushback. On the other hand, Kazumi's lows are mediocre as her best lows leave her standing, making her vulnerable to counterattacks.

Appearance

Kazumi's appearance is similar to that of a Japanese empress dressed in white. In addition to her full fringe and long black hair tied in a large Japanese bun, Kazumi also has brown eyes and a mole beneath her lower right eye.
