Biography

Story

Robert Richard, or simply Bob, used to be a renowned martial artist who gathered fans not only with his skill but his chiseled body and amazing looks, but that's not something he cared about. Bob only wanted to take his ambition further and beat stronger opponents but his weight class was keeping him down. Leaving the martial arts scene, he went on to subject himself to rigorous training. Years later he came back with the perfect physique he desired. He now had it all, speed, power, and most importantly, weight. Gaining massive amounts of weight turned Bob into a human cannonball, and while his old fans couldn't accept it, Bob knew the benefits of his new body.

To test his new powers, Bob entered the King of the Iron Fist tournament. He won the tournament and won back the love of his fans but he couldn't expect the tragedy that would soon follow. His active lifestyle and busy schedule caused Bob to gradually lose weight, when he realized this, it was already too late, he turned back into his slim form... And then he gained the weight back for King of the Iron Fist 7.

Personality

Bob is a cocky but easy-going, humorous, and cheerful character. He's shown to be chivalrous and heroic, helping out people in trouble whenever he can. In fights, he behaved very confidently, almost treating them as a test to see if he needs to do more training or if his opponent has potential.

Appearance

Bob's initial appearance depicted him in a simple outfit with black boots, blue suit pants, black gloves, and a red shirt with a sleeve patch depicting a bee with a fork. In Tekken 7 he received a slight redesign, now wearing torn jeans, a white shirt, and a torn Hawaiian shirt with flower print and a skull on top of it.

Playstyle

Bob is a jack-of-all-trades kind of character who nonetheless favors offense. His toolkit is expansive and well-rounded, allowing Bob to be flexible but it really begins to shine when played aggressively. Bob's poking game is very strong and allows him to control the pace of the match and space out opponents. His Mishima-style wavedash leads to various mixups and serves as a great approach tool alongside some of his ranged attacks with built-in movement and a great jab. Once Bob gets his opponent to the wall, he becomes even more threatening, as he can rack up a lot of damage with wall combos and can open opponents up with an arsenal of good lows and mids. He also boasts one of the best power crushes in the game, with good frames and damage.

While an overall strong character, Bob lacks any really threatening punishment options. Bob also doesn't have the best frames or strings, which forces him to take risks on higher levels of play when opponents know the gaps on his strings and don't fall for counter hits.
