DBFZ at BeePro Cup 2022: Japanese in Taiwan

The end of 2022 brings us quite a few Power Events of the DBFZ World Tour 2022/2023. They are great because the participants are super motivated to earn those precious league points. And also, the tournaments happen in different regions, so they highlight fighting styles of various DBFZ communities. For example, we witnessed matches of European players at Install 2022 and South American players at Battle Coliseum 2022.

At the same time, DBFZ players are not limited in their travels, so quite often, guests from other regions join a competition to improve their positions in the World Tour general standings. And quite often, these guests defeat local guys.

Such a situation also happened during the DBFZ tournament at BeePro Cup 2022. This event happened in Taiwan. And who could join the party to occupy top positions? Sure, Japanese!

Two Japanese players fought in one of the Semi-Finals: tako956402 and ikoan. It was a clear victory for ikoan, 2:0. A bit later, fights between these players turned out to be the main competition of the whole tournament.

ikoan proceeded to the Winners Final, where he defeated KUKU_VR, a Taiwanese player. 

In the Losers brackets, tako956402 kicked three opponents out of the tournament: ACQUA (also from Japan), Xanxus (from the Philippines), and KUKU_VR.

The First Grand Final match between tako956402 and ikoan was super close. Only in the last game, tako956402 won and reset the brackets. 

In the Grand Final Reset, tako956402 caught his wave, and won 3:1.

There were other events where local players had to compete with Japanese (which was a great experience for them). That happened at RAV Major in the Philippines, FV Major in Malaysia, and CouchWarriors Crossup 2022 in Australia.

Japanese players will have one more chance to prove their mettle and earn the World Tour points — DBFZ Power Event Japan happens on December 18.
