DBFZ at CouchWarriors Crossup 2022: “Godzilla Effect” in Australia

There were two types of matches in this Australian Power Event of the DBFZ World Tour Tour 2022/2023: with Fenritti or without him. And both are interesting to watch. 

In the first case, the class gap was huge — Fenritti just destroyed all the opponents (like the mighty Japanese Godzilla in defenseless Australia). 

In the second type, we could see pretty even and uncompromised fights of really strong players. The Australian scene is remarkable by the game tricks and character choices. Could you imagine Yamcha in a top-level event? And he defeats Fusions!

Both these types of fighting esports excitement are available in the tournament stream.

It’s not surprising that Fenritti dominated the tournament and eventually won (with no lost game). Fenritti is the DBFZ Champion of CouchWarriors Crossup 2022. Congratulations!

Still, there are three other esports heroes worth mentioning in our recap.

Marmiteinajar is the player who brought Yamcha(!) as an Anchor to the tourney and reached the Losers Final with this character. (Who is in the C tier now?).

Nolbie demonstrated how strong Frieza could be. The Emperor in his Golden form was super impressive!

And it looked like Novix had the match of his life in the Winner Final. Yes, the guy lost 0:3 to Fenritti, but all three games were so close. It’s safe to say that Novix is an Australian DBFZ Champion.

By the way, Fenritti won all three tournaments he participated in: BlazBlue Caentralfiction, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, and Guilty Gear -Strive-.
