Biography

Biography

A Frieza Race Prodogy

Born as the son of King Cold, an already mighty and cruel emperor, Frieza was said to have matched his father's strength early on in life. Not only that, he was given command of the Army soon after annexing the Saiyan home planet. Since then, he has made it his mission to control the entire universe and nearly succeeded. Through his accomplishment, he met with Beerus, the God of Destruction, who very much liked Frieza since they both shared a passion for the destruction of things. Though, of course, the two exchanged blows, with Frieza clearly being the weaker being. Annoyed Beerus about decimating him before thinking it better to let him act on his behalf to see the destruction of things.

Subjugating the Saiyans

Through his conquer of the Saiyans, Frieza had now a fearsome race of warriors at his disposal. One that would continue to better itself with every fight. But he also knew they were not to be trusted blindly, as they would not stay subjugated forever. Beerus was also concerned over the potential threat of a Saiyan race effectively-being bred to fight and grow in power levels. For this reason, the God of Destruction instructed Frieza to destroy them. He did as much, though hit hubris would get the better of him, as few escaped. Including someone who would one day achieve Super Saiyan God levels of power, Goku.

The Namek Saga

A few decades after the destruction of Planet Vegeta and the Saiyans, Frieza had planned to find and gather the Dragon Balls to realize his wish for immortality. One of his scout groups would detect a collection of the spheres in a planet called Namek. Thus Frieza and his high-ranking entourage would land on the planet and begin raiding local villages searching for the Dragon Balls. All until they learn of an approaching Vegeta, who was also after them.

Gameplay

Pros & Cons

At his core, Frieza is a zoning character who will use his overwhelming projectile fire to drown out his competition. His pressure is well above average, and with an instant screen filler move in Death Slash for cheap, he is a brutal character to play against if unprepared. On top of that, his Golden Frieza transformation allows for some truly scary comebacks that can put opponents on the back foot. With that said, Frieza is not without faults. The biggest one by far is that he does not handle rushdown well, and his projectile barrages effectively do no chip damage, and with no chip kills on the cards for him either, he is fragile in the hands of a beginner.
