Biography

Trunks comes from a future where the Androids have taken over the world and have killed almost 75% of its population. What’s worse is that Trunk’s timeline is without the Dragon Ball heroes, many of whom had fallen in that time. For instance, Goku was said to have died of a heart virus, and Vegeta was dead before Trunks was a toddler. Left without much help or support, the world was at the mercy of the terrible Androids.

On the backdrop of this post-apocalyptic wasteland, Trunks looked to Future Gohan as a mentor. Gohan in this timeline is not as strong as the mainline Gohan, but he takes Trunks under his wing and teaches him how to fight. Trunks grows strong, but unfortunately, is no match for the Androids. During one of their confrontations with the machines, Gohan loses an arm protecting Trunks which only served to discourage the young warrior. It didn’t get better as another confrontation with Android 17 and 18 left Gohan dead. It was at this point that Trunks was finally able to unlock his Super Saiyan abilities.

With the help of his mother, Bulma, Trunks is able to travel to the main story’s timeline with medicine to heal Goku and with the hope that he would be able to reverse his world’s terrible fate.

Playstyle

Trunks as a character is a decent all-rounder and doesn’t excel at much. That said, his adaptability makes him a safe choice for most teams, and he is great for the assist. Conversely, his ki blasts aren’t particularly reliable and can be punished heavily on whiff.
