Biography

Robin is the protagonist of Fire Emblem Awakening, and despite being the player’s voiceless avatar, they are one of the most pivotal characters in the game. As is the case with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version, there is an option to play either as a male or a female.

Robin’s story in Awakening begins with them lying unconscious near the Ylisse and Plegia border. They awaken when a prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, Chrom, finds them while on patrol duty with his elite militia force, the Shepherds. For some inexplicable reason, the only memories they have are those of their own name, Chrom’s name, and the extensive knowledge of the battlefield tactics. The latter comes to test very soon, as the Plegian brigands attack the nearby village of Southtown, and Robin is tasked to provide the strategic support for the members of the Shepherds. After the bandits are successfully routed, Chrom recruits the master tactician into his militia unit.

However, this victory is short-lived, as very soon, Chrom and his sister Lissa are attacked by undead Risen coming from a portal. They are saved by an intervention from a mysterious masked figure who introduces themselves as “Marth.” This person warns the heroes of the calamitous events that are awaiting them in the future and promptly disappears.

In addition to this, Robin suffers from unexpected visions that manifest at random times. They tell of what looks like future events that are going to happen. They leave him with severe migraines that seem to be only getting worse.

Robin’s personality is very mellow and self-conscious, even suffering from the imposter syndrome despite having genius-level tactician skills and a mind incredibly adept at strategic thinking. However, they are known to be able to approach people in a way that leaves them as friends after the encounter.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Robin is known to be a solid ranged character, which, unfortunately, suffers from several downsides that greatly inhibit their ability to dominate. Their mobility is practically nonexistent, and the limited availability of the strongest attacks can be played around.
