SC6 at Defend The North 2023: A Tough Path to the Title

Incendiate is one of the best Soulcalibur players in the world. His recent achievements include victories at Combo Breaker 2023 and Mixup 2023 — and sure, this is just a small part of his career.

It might seem pretty simple to say: “Hey, we had another SC6 tournament, and Incendiate won again.” But this simplification is not fair. I’m not talking even about the amount of behind-the-scenes work (dedicated training, participation in countless community events). Even one particular tournament may be a series of ups and downs, a concentration of emotional toughness.

Sure, I could just say: “Incendiate won Defend the North 2023.” But it does not reflect his run, though. And it would be better to follow it through the stream or at least through the brackets — to slightly feel what it means to get this victory and establish such a reputation.

In the Semi-Finals, Incendiate had a confident victory against OmegaXcn. And MFcoffee defeated Boom in game 3.

Then, these players fought in the Winners Final, and MFcoffee sent Incendiate to the Losers bracket — even switching from Geralt to Xianghua did not help.

Then, the Losers Final wasn’t a relaxed stroll. Boom proved to be a tough opponent (and his strategy of changing characters throughout the tournament was quite impressive). Only in the last round of the last game, Incendiate managed to deal slightly more damage and proceeded to the Grand Final.

Incendiate reset the bracket in the first Grand Final match — but the numbers do not reflect how close this fight was.

And then, both competitors demonstrated their amazing skills and brought the decisive match to the last game. Yep, Incendiate won. His path to this victory was tough and amazing.
