DBFZ ECT 2023 Results: A Legendary Opening
It’s actually the first Power Event of the DBFZ World Tour 2023/2024 in North America

We can say for sure at this point that the duo of Blue Fusions has lost their dominance in the DBFZ esports scene. Well, this makes the current global league even more interesting, don’t you think?

At East Coast Throwdown 2023, the stakes were pretty high, as a Power Event gives a chance to get substantially more points for the global standings than a Tenkaichi tournament (like CEOtaku VII).

It’s pretty interesting to check out the team composition with such conditions. And we are certainly just hyped about Dragon Ball FighterZ! The game is fun to play and watch — as always. (Hiroki-san says the rollback is coming, as we believe her.)

We can certainly notice a couple of players who stick to their main team despite game balance changes. LegendaryyPred actually played the same team back at ECT 2022 (and at many other DBFZ tournaments). Hikari did not change his Fusions-based team after Patch 1.33 — well, if you win EVO 2023 with these characters, you will love them for sure.

Jiren and Android 17 were surprisingly popular among participants. These characters were present in three teams of Top 8. And the Losers Semi, Senior vs INZEM, almost has mirror vibes.

Zane was the main opponent for LegendaryyPred at this Power Event. Both players won their Semis. Then, in the Winners Final, LegendaryyPred got a good, confident victory. Zane had to defeat INZEM to proceed to the Grand Final.

This fight was much closer than the previous match of LegendaryyPred vs Zane.

LegendaryyPred got an early 2-game advantage, but Zane managed to bring it to game 5. At some point, Zane remained only with SS4 Gogeta against a full team — and he eliminated Teen Gohan and Majin 21. A proper comeback was so close, but it did not happen. Gogeta even opened 21, but (why was there no Super in the end of that combo?). LegendaryyPred did not lose this chance, made a legendary opening, and won the match and the whole tournament. Congratulations!

Many US players (including LegendaryyPred and Zane, participated in the previous DBFZ Power Event too — as it was Thunderstruck 2023, in Mexico. Have you seen our recap of those matches?

Next tournaments of such level are Thaiger Uppercut 2023 in Thailand, on November 05, and Ultimate Fighting Arena 2023, in France, on November 26

Stay tuned to DashFight for everything important from the exciting world of Dragon Ball FighterZ esports (and fighting games in general).
