DBFZ Thunderstruck 2023 Results: Krillin? Is This You?
Perhaps, Master Roshi trained his student to clutch

A Power Event of the DBFZ World Tour 2023/2024 is quite a reason for the competitive players to travel and participate in the fights. That happened at the recent REV Major 2023 — some Japanese players traveled to the Philippines to earn precious league points. And that sure happened at Thunderstruck 2023. The tournament took place in Mexico, so many US players decided to join the party.

Let’s take a look at the results and the teams in use.

DBFZ Esports | Thunderstruck 2023 | Stream, Top 8

(the stream is in Spanish, but the language of fighting games is universal)

It is quite interesting to check teams of pro players; they had enough practice time with Patch 1.33 to feel the current balance.

One thing is pretty obvious: there are almost no Blue Fisions at pro events. At Thunderstruck 2023, only Levi_Shoto took Blue Gogeta (such a trend was started earlier, at the Summer Jam 2023). Android 21 Lab Coat is still here, though.

LegendaryyPred stays loyal to his Teen Gohan team, but in the Top 8 part of this tournament, he couldn’t succeed and lost two games, to Neku and Lucar.

Zane has built his new team around Beerus again, and it took the guy up to the Losers Semi-Final.

Unlike at CEOtaku VII, Lucar did not experiment with bringing back his OG team this time. And he defeated quite a few super-strong opponents — but not the strongest (arguably) DBFZ player in Mexico, Neku.

Neku was one of the Lab Coat players (with the SS4 Gogeta and Janemba). He got impressive victories over LegendaryyPred and Lucar, but not vs Garlic Bread.

DBFZ Esports | Thunderstruck 2023 | Stream, Grand Final

If you take just a swift look at the final brackets, you risk getting misled — those 3:0s in two matches of Garlic Bread vs Neku do not reflect the toughness and general excitement of the fights.

In the Winners Final, Garlic Bread had to unleash the power of his Krillin to win matches with the last characters standing.

The Grand Final followed the same scenario. It’s probably worth paying decent attention to Krillin in this DBFZ build.

Garlic Bread is the DBFZ Champion at Thunderstruck 2023. Congratulations!

A smaller event, the Tenkaichi Tournament, happened in Greece around the same time as Thunderstruck. It was DBFZ at Clash of the Olympians 2k23.

The next Power Event of the DBFZ World Tour 2023/2024 takes place in the USA (Stamford, CT) — this will be East Coast Throwdown 2023, on October 21-22.
