Dragon Ball FighterZ is a pretty different game now — in comparison even to the most recent big tournament at VSFighting XI. Patch 1.33 brought a lot of changes, and players have to adapt to this new meta.
And what could be a better way to do this than a proper competition? Nitro decided to use this chance at Summer Jam 2023.
There weren’t too many “big” DBFZ competitors at this tournament, to be honest. But who knows, maybe with the current condition of the game, we could reconsider who is an esports celebrity for this title…
In a way, it was natural to expect Nitro to take this win pretty easily. Nope, this wasn’t the case — sure, the final result was expected, but the path to it was much tougher.
Nitro was on the verge of falling into the Losers brackets in the Winners Final. But then he managed to win three games in a row.
In the Grand Final, Nitro faced the same opponent, Randomfiend, and… got a 0:3 loss.
For the Grand Final Reset, he took a slightly different team (with Blue Vegeta). This time, it was Nitro’s clear victory.
Nitro is the DBFZ Champion at Summer Jam 2023. Congratulations!
Adaptation to the newest patch was rather obvious, as Nitro played a totally new team in comparison to Evo 2023.
