Biography
Story
The story of Kyo Kusanagi goes on centuries before he was born. Once the Kusanagi and Yasakani clans were allies, but the latter formed a pact with Orochi. Since then, a lengthy rivalry has started. The current leaders of these clans are Kyo and Iori Yagami (Yasakani changed their name).
As for Kyo personally, his life story is connected with Orochi followers. During the first tournament, Kyo had to deal with Rugal Bernstein, the host who killed Kyo’s father, Sasiyu. In King of Fighters ‘95 he had to deal with Rugal again, who revived and brainwashed Sasiyu. After his victory, Kyo established himself as the leader of the clan.
However, Orochi didn’t leave anywhere. During several next tournaments, Kyo was busy defeating other Orochi followers.
In the 2003 tournament, he teamed up with Chizuru and Iori to investigate suspicious activity regarding the Orochi seal. During several next tournaments, Ash Crimson defeated at first Chizuru, then Iori and took their powers. Kyo was hospitalized but managed to come back in the thirteenth tournament. After Ash disappeared, Kyo’s team won it.
Before the fourteenth tournament, Kyo was asked by his father to meet Tung Fu Rue’s young talents However, the tournament was interrupted, so Kyo reunited with Iori and Chizuru to finish a deal and reseal Orochi..
Personality
Kyo is the kind of bad boy that is entertaining to watch. He might be over-confident, but he really loves life. He may look arrogant, but if you get into his inner circle, Kyo will do everything for you.
His rivalry with Iori Yagami is brutal and full of hatred, but Kyo never steps over the line since he understands the importance of Three Sacred Treasures.
Playstyle
Kyo is great when it comes to attacking combos. He may deal lots of damage, but he is not that good when it comes to pressure from afar. While he is not an easy character to master, his gameplay is highly entertaining!
Appearance
Kyo is your typical street kid. He wears a black leather jacket and jeans. Kyo also wears a white headband which looks great with his dark brown hair.
