Yagami is one of three ancient clans that had Sacred Treasures to seal Orochi. Their rivalry with the Kusanagi clan goes back centuries. Iori is heavily influenced by it: the Orochi curse doesn’t allow male heirs to live long, and all mothers die during childbirth. However, it is not legacy that makes Iori hate Kyo Kusanagi; rather it’s personal.
During the whole series, he looks forward to defeating Kyo. However, their rivalry is not settled even to this day. Something had always come up and interrupted their plans.
When he failed to reach Kyo, in his rage, Iori could betray his teammates and succumb to the influence of Orochi powers.
During the eleventh tournament, Ash Crimson defeated Iori and stole his Sacred Treasure as well as his powers. They came back only in the thirteenth tournament after Ash disappeared.
After Verse interrupted the fourteenth tournament, Iori reunited with Kyo and Chizuru to reseal Orochi.
Iori is a blunt, rude guy who has his own moral rules. He usually doesn’t care about anything outside his interest. However, with the right motivation, you can get him by your side. His ruthless aggression is a double-edged sword. Be careful if Iori snaps in his rage.
Iori is a character who is good for beginners and prefers an ultra-attacking style. That brings us to an ultimate entertaining button-meshing combo. However, that does not mean he is invincible. The punishment for missed attacks can be very hard.
Iori has long red hair that skews to hide one of his eyes. He wears a crimson vest and red pants. A long black coat adds up to his memorable image.
