Josie grew up as part of an impoverished family in the Philippines. Her parents pushed her from a young age to take up martial arts, Kick-boxing specifically. At first, Josie was very reluctant to do so but came around to it. However, her training did not help her crying disposition. Once an adult, she worked both as a model and a professional Kick-boxer to help her family get by.
After a massive typhoon landed on her home and destroyed most of the town, the Tekken Force was sent to aid the survivors. Inspired by their actions, Josie decided to join them, going through their rigorous training.
Josie is bright, cheerful, and quite energetic, though she became prone to crying because of something that happened in her past. She was quickly brought to tears and frightened by many things and was encouraged to take up martial arts to boost her confidence from a young age. Although more confident now, she still scares and cries easily, as shown in her confrontation with Kuma, where she fled in tears from him and fainted when he tried to interrogate her. However, she seems to be trying to be brave and wants to help people, as shown by her desire to join Tekken Force after seeing the typhoon relief they provided to the Philippines.
Josie is a very simple character to pick up and play with, especially for first-time players, due to the circumstance that she is a very agile and fast character with high overall damage output. One thing to keep in cognizance is that, unlike the majority of the female characters in the series, she is incapable of performing a Back Handspring, so it is recommended to Back Dash Cancel if one wishes to give themselves some breathing room while being pressured by their opponent during the fight.
Josie also plays very similarly to Bruce, sharing some of his assets but with some new assets. Additionally, she eliminates one of Bruce's weaknesses, namely the lack of a ground-hitting middle attack, effectively making her superior to Bruce when it comes to the ground game. Given these similarities, Josie is the character who most closely resembles Bruce in Tekken 7 for Bruce fans who have played the game before his absence.
Josie is a beautiful, stunning young woman with a slim but athletic build, short dark brown hair, and brown eyes.
Her outfit consists of a loose, midriff-baring yellow blouse, sandals, a blue miniskirt, and a belt with a red flower motif on the front and back of the waist.
