Part of a species of giant carnivorous plants. The Piranha plant can grow on various surfaces, but often they appear inside pipes. They also display some sentience level but cannot communicate with anyone, though perhaps they can do so among themselves.Know more

It is hard to pinpoint exactly when this carnivorous plant species decided to chomp at the Mario Brothers. For all that is known, they've done so for years or have done so once under Bowser's regime. Petey seems a common name for these beings. A Petey Piranha excels at golf, and another Petey who competes in an American Football series called Strikers.
Piranha Plant is a unique character for the Super Smash Bros franchise. It is technically a DLC character as it was purchasable for around November 2018 and February 2019. But it then became part of the base game for digital owners and owners of the game's physical release that registered their copy in the online store. Another interesting fact is that this plant is the only common enemy in Super Smash Bros Ultimate as its own characters (Zombie and Enderman being just alternative skins for Steve). Thus making it one of the rarest.
In the competitive world of SSBU, there is a minimal flare for the plant-based lifeform. The character had a bit of spark around 2019 but has since slowly declined in popularity, with many players who mained the carnivorous plant dropping it, favoring more viable choices. Nevertheless, there is a lot of good in this character's kit, as its projectiles provide it with great tools to zone out opponents. But the obviously limited mobility and constant danger of being comboded out of stage make this little plant stay on the sidelines most of the time. On top of that, its normal attacks can be punished rather easily.
