Valentine

Story

Valentine used to be called Valerie, but beyond that, there is little known about her background. She sports a scar on her lips which she acquired before her dalliance with the Last Hope. She joined the Last Hope and was experimented on to augment her strength, so she has ninja-like abilities that make her more powerful than the average human. While confronting the Skullgirl, the rest of the Last Hope was wiped out, with only Valentine surviving to tell the tale. She would eventually replace the Skullgirl as she worried that if she made a wish on the Skull Heart, it would warp her desire and create something abhorrent. 

Personality

Valentine has something of a dark personality. She got along well with the rest of the members of the Last Hope, but now that they are all dead, she doesn’t have anyone to share any camaraderie with and is, therefore, a lot quieter. Valentine hates weakness and isn’t a fan of sentiment. She will carry out her mission with objective stoicism, which makes her really good at her job. That said, beneath her nasty demeanor is a character who is willing to do some good. She has shown on a number of occasions that she is willing to go against orders to do the right thing. This was evidenced by her disregard for Christmas’ orders (Christmas was the former leader of the Last Hope) to give people in need some e medical attention.

Playstyle

Valentine is a character that requires some skill and is recommended for players who like to play slow and deliberately. She has great mobility, which helps her move across the screen with ease, and she can fire projectiles off her super jump. She also has a projectile which helps her control the ground game. What sets her apart from other characters is her vials. She is able to load up on vials with each colored vial causing a different effect. She also has good buttons, some great jabs, and a superb throw game. Her throws keep her close to the character meaning she can dash up and continue assaulting her prey as soon as possible. She is a character that in the hands of a pro is frightening indeed. 

Appearance

Valentine is dressed in a very skimpy nurse’s outfit with a smock permanently over her mouth and a hat on her head. She has blue hair that covers one eye (her damaged eye) and wears bandages around her legs that go up to her knees. On the side of her knees, she has what can only be described as pink-colored shurikens, which she uses as projectiles. She also has a hacksaw at her back which is one of her primary weapons. She wears a pair of white gloves and has little cross-shaped buttons holding up her outfit.
