Biography

Story

For almost all his life Kilik fought the evil forces of Soul Edge. He knows its destructive power very well and wants to stop it at whatever cost.

The young ages of Kilik were relatively bright, even if they started from a tragedy. He never knew his parents. Monks of the Ling-Sheng Su temple in China found him one day. They kept the boy and became his second family. Kilik was especially close to Xianglian. He considered her a sister. But then…

Both Kilik and Xianglian got Ling-Sheng Su’s sacred treasures. As a warrior, Kilik got the staff Kali-Yuga. Xianglian was chosen to possess the mirror Dvapara-Yuga. Right before the succession ceremony, everything fell apart.

The Evil Seed happened — a beam of light from the demonic sword Soul Edge shot into the sky and caused horrible events. It covered the temple, and the evil filled the monks. Kilik lost his mind, even himself. With his fighting skills, he was a dreadful killer.

Feeling the approach of the Evil Seed, the monks decided to transfer both relics to their new owners. In the case of Kilik, Kali-Yuga became an unstoppable killing tool. But thank goodness, Dvapara-Yuga saved Xianglian from insanity. The girl decided to stop Kilik and gave him the mirror. That helped. Kilik returned to his lost self — to see Xianglian becoming insane. She attacked the guy and tried to stop him from leaving the place. While defending, Kilik killed Xianglian. He tried to avoid that, but the madness of the Evil Seed left him no choice.

The tragedy affected the whole life of this guy. He never could recover from the death of Xianglian. And he discovered that the evil was still inside him, waiting for a moment to take over Kilik again. Only Dvapara-Yuga keeps him sane.

Kilik made the battle against evil his life purpose. He’s found a master to teach powerful techniques that purify even the darkest energy. He met new friends on this way, one of which could become something more than just a friend. She’s Xianghua, and she reminds Kilik of Xianglian so much. That resemblance stops the guy from taking the next logical step in their relationship.

Kilik keeps his personal drama aside and does everything to accomplish his main mission. With Xianghua, they fight and defeat Nightmare. Soul Edge is destroyed, and Kilik could finally feel alive.

Personality

This character is present in every core Soulcalibur game. His story and personality are tightly connected to the battle of good and evil. His tragedy reflects the horrible disaster Soul Edge brings to this world.

At the same time, though, Kilik himself is full of evil. Only the sacred mirror stops him from destroying everything and everyone around. Kilik’s personality has both oppositions: Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. Should they both be destroyed for the man to find the harmony in between?

To achieve his goal, Kilik is totally dedicated to training. He might not be the cleverest person to talk to, but that’s because of his full focus on the battles against Soul Edge.

Playstyle

Kilik uses a rod (staff) in Soulcalibur fights. This weapon helps the guy reach distant opponents, and he still remains effective at close and middle range.

With his Kali-Yuga, Kilik is good at both offense and defense. That gives players the freedom to express themselves in Soulcalibur matches. With the Soul Charge activated, Kilik becomes a more offensive character, but he slowly loses his health.

Appearance

Kilik is a pretty attractive young man. His power is gentle, and you can see that in his body type — there is no brutal might of some other characters. At the same type, Kilik is nicely built and not weak by any means. With his rod, brown hair, and elegant clothing, he is a dream character for many players, almost like a prince in a fairy tale.
