Story

Devil Jin is the evil form of the Tekken series main protagonist, Jin Kazama. He made his first appearance in Tekken 3 as a cameo and later became a fully playable character in Tekken 5.

When Heihachi Mishima threw his son, Kazuya, into the volcano after the King of Iron Fist 2 tournament, the Devil entity inside Kazuya split in half, and while one remained with Heihachi's son, the other one fled to look for a different host with the Devil Gene. It attempted to possess Jun Kazama's unborn son while she was pregnant, but psychic abilities helped Jun to keep the entity away during Jin's childhood. However, when Jun vanishes after the battle with Ogre, Jin becomes defenseless, and the Devil half is able to take refuge in his body, branding Jin's left arm in the process.

Devil didn't show up until the end of the King of Iron Fist tournament 3 when Heihachi Mishima and the squad of Tekken Force soldiers gunned Jin Kazama down. This caused Jin's first transformation into the Devil Jin, as Devil half took control of his body and attacked the soldiers and Jin's grandfather before disappearing.

At the end of the King of Iron Fist 4 tournament, Jin once again found himself in trouble, captured by Heihachi and Kazuya. The Devil half inside Kazuya intended to reclaim its other half from Jin, but failed and Jin fought against Kazuya and Heihachi in his human form, defeating both of them. However, his hatred for Mishima nearly made him succumb to his Devil form and kill Heihachi, and only a vision of his mother, Jun, stayed his hand.

Devil Jin made several appearances during the upcoming years. Once Jinpachi Mishima was able to escape from underneath the temple he's been held, Devil Jin took full control of Jin's body and destroyed the entire forest, leaving Jin with the consequences of this action. During the King of Iron Fist 5 tournament, Jin was defeated in a battle by Hwoarang, but Devil Jin took control once again and attacked, almost killing Hwoarang

Later Jin managed to confront the very source of the Devil Gene, Azazel, and used his Devil power to defeat the demon, but part of its spirit survived, therefore Devil Gene remained. After that, Jin has been captured by United Nations, but he destroyed the helicopter he been transported in and traversed the desert on foot, occasionally switching between his human and Devil form. Later, he confronted Hwoarang once again, but this time his opponent managed to take Devil Jin down and Jin has been taken by Lars Alexandersson. Jin fell into a comatose state for several months, and upon awakening he discovered an ability to control his Devil powers, but the struggle to not being consumed by Devil Jin entirely continues.

Personality

Devil Jin is a creature hungry for ultimate power and will do everything to achieve his goal. Though it shares the body with Jin Kazama, the Devil's part considers his host weak and insignificant. Devil Jin is a cruel, sadistic creature who enjoys the suffering of his foes, also occasionally calling them "prey." Devil Jin doesn't share memories with Jin but retains certain sensations occasionally and suffers severe headaches while being close to someone close to Jin, like Hwoarang or Xiaoyu

Playstyle

Devil Jin's fighting style shares many similarities with Jin and other so-called Mishimas in general while being much more well-rounded and versatile. He has a lot of great pressure tools and punishing moves, excelling in playing from opponent's mistakes.

Appearance

Though you can still see Jin while he's in the Devil form, this creature is more of a demon than a human, with black wings widely spread and malicious horns spreading from the back of his head. His fingers are pointed with deadly claws, and his eyes glow red, adding even more to his menacing look.
