Dominique "SonicFox" McLean is a professional fighting games player from the United States who represents Evil Geniuses.
They are considered one of the strongest Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Skullgirls: 2nd Encore players in the world due to an impressive list of big victories, which gives SonicFox truly legendary status among the fighting games community.
SonicFox is a five-time EVO champion, as they had won Injustice: Gods Among Us in 2014, Mortal Kombat X in 2015 and 2016, Dragon Ball FighterZ in 2018, and Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019. They also won the Injustice 2 Pro Series twice in 2017 and 2018 and became the first Final Kombat champion for MK11. They also won Season 1 of WePlay Ultimate Fighting League Mortal Kombat 11.
As an individual of many talents, SonicFox also left a mark in other fighting games like Tekken 7, SkullGirls (EVO 2015 side-tournament victory), Soul Calibur VI, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, Under Night In-Birth, Dead or Alive, and Guilty Gear -Strive-.
There are some facts to evaluate the contribution of SonicFox to the fighting games community. For example, they appear in SkullGirls as a non-playable character. Also, there is an in-game achievement in Mortal Kombat X called "The Fox Finish". To earn it, the player has to win a match with Erron Black by using Caltrops. It is a reference to SonicFox's win over A F0xy Grampa in the EVO 2015 Grand Finals. To admit their contribution to esports, SonicFox has been awarded "Esports Player of the Year" at The Game Awards 2018.
