Looks like the premiere will be delayed

Filming for Mortal Kombat 2, the sequel to the 2021 live-action movie, began on June 20, shortly after the entire star cast was officially revealed. However, a month later, production appears to have been halted and frozen indefinitely.

According to Deadline, the actors strike also affected the Australian film industry, causing a "limited number of SAG-affiliated productions" to be halted. This information is confirmed by Karl Urban on his personal Instagram and the producer of the film Todd Garner on Twitter:

Post-production of the movie was scheduled for September, but now the film's premiere will be postponed. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have yet to make any official announcements. The release date for Mortal Kombat 2 is still unknown.
