Guilty Gear -Strive- at FV Major 2023: A Chaotic but Happy Win
A tournament that highlights players from Southeast Asia

FV Major 2023 took place in Malaysia, and pretty strong players from the whole region participated in it.

The GG Strive tournament wasn't globally big — unlike Headstomper, it’s not part of the Arc World Tour 2023. But in a way, this was its good feature as we could see talented SEA guys proving their skills. The matches are just fun to watch, so why not treat yourself?

This part of the tourney was a splashy series of Perfect rounds and 3:0 matches. Seo did not lose even one round in the Winners Final and confidently defeated Dagre. Levi destroyed two opponents in the Losers brackets to proceed to the Grand Final.

This match was significantly closer than the others. Levi demonstrated his mastery with a few characters — and even taking Chipp for a mirror match did not save Seo from the bracket reset.

The Grand Final Reset was especially close. Seo got an initial advantage but then almost lost it as Levi brought the fight to 2:2. For the decisive game, Seo returned to playing Happy Chaos — and that was the right choice.

Seo is the Guilty Gear Strive Champion at FV Major 2023. Congratulations!

Top Moments

Perfect for Seo.

Bullets don’t touch the King (if he is quick enough).

Poor Baiken… She had no chances against those huge mega-techno swords.

A Chipp mirror match.

“A king? But you’re only third or something… Let me shoot you!”

Quick splashy matches happen often during GG Strive tournaments. Have you seen the Grand Final at CEO 2023? You could really blink and miss the victory of Eddventure.

The next big event for this game is Brussels Challenge Major Edition 2023, on July 14-16 (yep, it’s part of AWT). Stay tuned to DashFight to be in the whirl of everything fighting esports!
