Biography

Leo was a prodigy since childhood, excelling at everything he put his mind to, including combat. He eventually joined the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. During his service, he met Ky, who turned out to be even better than him, greatly humbling Leo and leading him to be more critical of himself and aspire to improve more than ever.

When in 2187, Ramlethal Valentine declares war on humanity, Leo provides vital assistance to Ky by taking charge of War Room and overseeing strategic decisions. Hesitantly using Elphelt’s aid, they capture Ramlethal and learn of Conclave’s plans to resurrect Justice. Using this information, Sol is sent after Conclave to retrieve Justice while Leo, Sin, and Ky guard the capital. During the attack of Opus units, Elphelt fights alongside Leo, but her original programming takes over, sabotaging the mission and ending with Elphelt and Justice being teleported away.

After the incident, Leo starts looking into several reports and other information that send him to a Japanese colony. He finds Faust, Chronus, Johnny, May and tries to arrest them. The former two escape while the latter are apprehended until Kum Haehyun demands their release. In the process, he learns about the issue plaguing the colony, which is later expanded upon when Faust and Zappa share their intel at Illarya.

Going back to the issue with Justice, Leo contacts Sol, asking for his help after learning about Sol’s nature. Together with Sol, Ky, and Dr. Paradigm, they visit That Man and learn that Ariels is none other than Universal Will. Later on, they devise a plan to fight against Ariel using everyone's help and succeed despite all odds. After everything is back to normal and Leo resumes his duties, he hears news of That Man unexpectedly surrendering himself to the United States.

Before much time passes, Leo has to get involved in another incident. I-No suddenly breaks in at the Illaryan Castle and takes something from Ariels, which later turns out to be Happy Chaos. Leo informs Daryl and Ky about I-No’s past deeds and the highly unusual nature of her break-in, which makes them worried about her possible plans. Despite this, the G4 summit proceeds due to I-No letting herself be captured. Daryl recruits Milia Rage and Zato for their expertise to ensure top-level security, much to Leo’s dismay. The two manage to provide intel which soon proves crucial as the black box inside the White House is related to Tír na nÓg project, which turns the White House into a flying spaceship. In cooperation with Zepp and United States, they managed to take care of the situation at the White House and save everyone by guiding them towards an escape pod. While everything is seemingly resolved and Happy Chaos is captured, Leo notices a tiny detail after talking to Giovanna. Happy Chaos changed the appearance of one of the security members and disguised himself. After Leo’s comment, Chaos reveals himself and takes That Man’s Tome of Origin and fuses with I-No. Before she can do anything, Ky, Sol, and Nagoriyuki manage to defeat her by striking her weak point with Outrage. With another matter resolved, Leo returns to his post and a massive amount of paperwork.

Personality

Leo tends to act in a very animated and dramatic style. Wherever he goes, he carries an unmistakable air of superiority, power, and confidence. One might assume that Leo is arrogant and pompous, which used to be somewhat true until he met Ky, but Leo treats himself much harsher than others. His natural charisma, strength, and cunning mind made Leo a popular leader and commander.

Appearance

Leo is a tall man with long, unkempt blonde hair and a beard. He wears brown boots, light brown pants, a white shirt, a dark brown vest, and a brown trenchcoat with a furred collar and cuffs.

Playstyle

Leo is an offense-focused character with potent offensive tools. His defining feature is the Brynhildr stance, where he turns his back towards the enemy and throws them in a blender. His stance is highly intimidating and oppressive with an overhead, low, throw, cross-up, counter move, and great frames. His long-reaching normals and a powerful DP also help him to retain some control in neutral.

Leo only has a few slight weaknesses. Due to limited approach options, it can be difficult for him to get in on opponents, especially those with good ranged moves. He also pays with slower than average recovery for his excellent range, which makes whiffing especially dangerous.
