Become a PatronAfter much build up, including a whole anime series, Unika is finaly joining the Guilty Gear Strive roster, with a full trailer to mark the occasion.
However, with Unika already being in the game, there's not much of a point to trying to pick apart the trailer and figure out what she actually does, so ArcSys has also put out their traditional starter guide that explained the character and her toolkit in some detail.
If you want the short version, she's a relatively slow character that makes up for it with her reach and projectiles. ArcSys also continues the trend of making their new characters surprisingly complex, sometimes more so than any of the returning characters, who get somewhat streamlined.
In Unika's case, she has a conditional power-up for all of her weapon related attacks, which means that you often have two different versions of a special move to work with, with all the implications that creates. This gives her access to some unique routes, potential for point blank pressure, and an extra layer of skill expression.
