AngryBird wins Capcom Pro Tour East Europe & Middle East 2

On September 12-13, SF5 players from Eastern Europe and the Middle East fought for the spot at the arguably most significant Street Fighter tournament of the year. For the fighting games community, this was a powerful show, full of interesting matches - and of course, watching professionals compete on such a high level is a chance to learn new tricks and start playing Street Fighter V even better.

Capcom Pro Tour 2020 is a series of online tournaments, and we already witnessed quite a few intense competitions, such as the event CPT East Asia 1, won by Daigo, or North America East 2, won by Smug.

Capcom Pro Tour East Europe & Middle East 2 had 152 attendees. They fought in the starting brackets to proceed to Top 16, and then only eight among them played in the final stage.

Amjad “AngryBird” Alshalabi from the United Arab Emirates won his Winners Quarter-Final match in the Top 16 part against Mustafa “nightmasters” Bilir (2:0) and proceeded to Top 8.

In the Winners Semi-Final, Amjad “AngryBird” Alshalabi played against Alexey “Duwactik” Nikolaev (3:1). His opponent in the Final match was Adel “Big Bird” Anouche (3:1). In the Grand Final, AngryBird once again defeated Duwactik, who won the Loser Final (3:1).

It seems like Capcom Cup 2020 is going to be super interesting! The next SPT event is planned for September 19-20 - this will be Capcom Pro Tour Asia South East 2.

Meanwhile, the game has lots of new players - thanks to the addition of Street Fighter V to the PS Plus lineup of free games in September.
