Some 'Dude' Beat Waka Flocka In MK1— Mainstream Media
After an incredible feat, SonicFox still doesn't seem to be recognised by the larger world out there

SonicFox has over 200,000 followers and is easily one of the most recognizable names in gaming, and especially within the FGC.

Being within the FGC, there is a lot that happens that feels seismic. When a new game is announced, a new character is showcased, or someone within the community does something really hype. For fans of fighting games these incidents are huge. But, then something happens that reminds you that ultimately, the FGC is a small community within gaming, and that is an even smaller community within the world in general.

SonicFox's exhibition against rapper Waka Flocka was the most talked about event for some time within the FGC and when it finally took place earlier this week, the result was as expected— a SonicFox victory. But, it was still a worthwhile endeavour and was a lot of fun to watch.

But Waka Flocka is a rapper with over a million followers on social media, so when news is being reported about him, it is understandable when the other people involved are considered random.

A recent post by World Star Hiphop on social media generated some buzz when reporting the Sonic vs Waka fight. According to them, Waka was beaten by 'some dude.' A tad insulting, but also amusing and a reminder how much smaller the FGC is in the context of the world. After the post came out, there were several reactions from fans, mostly negative, about how there should be some respect for SonicFox's name.

Sonic also came out to respond to the post saying, “Dude” huh

Sonic doesn't seem to have taken it too much to heart and perhaps this is an opportunity for the wider world to learn of the awesomeness within the FGC.

Waka lost comprehennsively and he admitted it. It'll be interesting to see if more comes from this.
