This is an additional incentive for players to enter the World Warrior event
NTTe-Sports is a Japanese company established in 2020 who act as consultants and experts within the esports sphere in Japan and they provide support and platforms for the running and promotion of esports in Japan. Since last year, they have also been the custodians of the World Warrior series for the Capcom Pro Tour in Japan.
They have made known some of the incentives for players to register for World Warrior in Japan as players have a chance to acquire a professional licence.
According to their tweet, the winner of World Warrior #1 to #5 will be recommended to the Japanese Esports Union (JeSU) to get a pro license. They also added that the top 8 Regional Finalists will also get pro licenses.
Professional Licences are a big deal and they more or less enable a pro player to earn money for the games they play. Daigo was the first recognized pro gamer in Japan with Tokido the second. Since then, several more players have obtained licenses. But for every Daigo and Tokido, there are hundreds of talented players who do not have a license and this is one way to fight for one.
The World Warrior events will start from the 19th of August 2023, and the Regional Final will take place on the 18th of November.
The way the World Warrior events work is that there are five tournaments and each one carries a certain amount of points for each ranking player. For instance, first place gets 50 points. After five tournaments, the 8 highest placed players coompete in a Regional Final and the winner gets a ticket to Capcom Cup.
Capcom Cup X will take place next year with the winner to take home $1,000,000.
