Capcom Updates Best Selling Games List, SF6 Overtakes SF2 Turbo
It might go on to be the best selling Street Fighter game

Capcom has updated their best-selling games page to reflect the current situation for their games and has updated up to the 30th of June 2025. Of their several selling titles, Monster Hunter continues to be their top title.

For Street Fighter, the franchise has sold an incredible amount of copies, but since this list looks at individual games, it gives people a clear sense of how individual titles did on their own. Therefore, it was interesting to see that Street Fighter V is Capcom's best-selling Street Fighter game with over 7 million copies sold, which puts it over classics like Street Fighter 2. Sure, SF2 was a massive hit and made a boatload of money in sales, but this is viewing Street Fighter 2 as an ensemble, including the Super Street Fighter, Turbo, and other variants of the game.

Street Fighter 6 is the game that has come closest to having the same impact on a financial and cultural level. With over 5 million copies sold, it sits only behind Street Fighter V and Street Fighter II in the list of highest-selling Street Fighter games. With it reaching 5 million sales in its 2nd-3rd year, it can be speculated that this will be the highest-selling Street Fighter game ever. This is putting into consideration that SFV's numbers came over a 7-year period which, if SF6 goes on for the same amount of time, will certainly be surpassed. With possibly 5 more years of Street Fighter 6, one could easily see this reaching 10 million units sold, which will certainly make it one of the most successful Capcom titles of all time.

The list of top-selling games can be found here.

With the Esports World Cup coming up and many more eyes on the game than ever, it will be interesting to see the impact these events have on the sales of the game moving forward.
