You can now...err...drink Street Fighter 6 characters
There have been a fair share of quirky inventions and products that people are expected to use on a daily basis, and now we have one that intersects with fighting games.
In a recent news segment in Japan that highlighted products that could become a hit in 2027, a product that can only be described as a drinkable trading card was presented.
The product, UHA Mikakuto's Energy Arts, is a small liquid pouch that contains about 12 mL of a caffeine-free energy drink with amino acids. The idea behind it is to be an accessible drink that can be consumed at once during gaming sessions, work, or other endeavors that could require it.
The product was made by UHA Mikakuto in conjunction with Kindai University's pharmaceutical department.
The Street Fighter angle became apparent when it was disclosed that the product already has a collaboration with Street Fighter 6. There are 24 character designs available for buyers to drink from.
Most of the reactions to the reports have been humorous, like one from FGC legend Ryan Hart, who suggested that people not drink the product if it has a Jamie design. The joke is that Jamie is a character who powers up by drinking, and someone consuming something like that in real life could be misconstrued as doing something else.
As the projection is that the drink could become a hit in 2027, we'll have to wait and see if that actually happens.
