NetherRealm Studios Attempted to Bring John Wick into Mortal Kombat 1

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon revealed that they unsuccessfully tried to get Keanu Reeves' legendary assassin character John Wick for the latest Mortal Kombat game. However, Boon says licensing and availability made that impossible.

"I could certainly see the John Wicks of the world... as a matter of fact, that is one of the ones that we tried to get--John Wick--in Mortal Kombat, and we didn't get it," Boon told Rolling Stone.

Boon also mentioned possibly wanting Reeves to voice Kenshi. While John Wick likely could have fit well within the brutal world of Mortal Kombat, it seems fans will have to be content knowing he was almost included.
