MK 1 Online Feature Poll Reveals Players' Desire for Crossplay
Ed Boon’s Twitter Poll Sheds Light on Mortal Kombat 1's Online Features Wishlist

In a recent poll on X (formerly Twitter), Ed Boon mentions that the development team is enhancing the online features for MK1. While he doesn't provide a specific timeline for the rollout of these features, he seeks fan opinions on which feature they are most eager to see, hinting that this feedback could potentially influence the release order.

Given the poll results, crossplay seems to be the most desired feature, leading the vote with a whopping 75.5 percent. Following far behind is the WiFi filter option, with 10.6 percent of the vote, a feature that allows wired connection players to avoid matches with those on WiFi who might have unstable connections prone to lag or disconnection. Including the WiFi filter in the poll and the noticeable interest from the players make it a strong possibility that this feature is already in development along with crossplay. It’s a bummer for WiFi users, though.

The absence of crossplay at the game's launch was one of the factors contributing to fans labeling Mortal Kombat 1 as “rushed.” Other issues like buggy combat mechanics and unattainable achievements further fuel the sentiment.

While the exact timeline for introducing these features remains unknown, the community's strong inclination towards crossplay shines through. Given that Boon has sought fan feedback, crossplay might likely be the first feature to be rolled out, or at least, it would be prioritized as soon as it’s ready to be launched in the game - whenever that may be.

Boon’s outreach is a positive step, signaling to the fans that the developers know the issues and have plans to address them.
