Kim Kaphwan and His Sons Star in New Fatal Fury Animated Short

Legendary animator Masami Obari has once again put out some work regarding Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves to herald the inclusion of newest character Kim Kaphwan to the cast.

Kim Kaphwan is the third DLC character to join the game for the third season, following Rick Strowd and Duck King. He is the third of seven characters that will be added to the game, with Manjiro Sano and Ken Ryuguji from the acclaimed manga Tokyo Revengers coming to the game in October 2026.

The animated short from Obari features Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon, Kim’s sons, taking on a bunch of thugs in South Town. The thugs seek to overwhelm the boys, and the two are clearly tiring as they keep fighting. But, as things start to look grave, their dad, Kim, comes to the rescue. He jumps from a high point and proceeds to defeat the enemies. He then bonds with his boys, claiming that their Taekwondo is unbeatable.

Kim Kaphwan made his debut in the franchise in Fatal Fury 2 back in 1992 and has popped up in various games since then. He is a martial artist with two sons. Interestingly, the three characters have never shown up in the same game before, making this a very novel situation in CotW.
