Punk still doesn't seem to believe that the EU are on top
The FGC is still easily the most entertaining esports scene because of the personalities involved and the antics that they get up to. Most recently, we have seen Mister Crimson, the winner of Red Bull Kumite London, challenge Punk to a money match. The story kicks off when Punk took to his Twitter and wrote, "If EU is so nice the community can pick one player fundraise 10k I'll put up my own 10k, and I'll gladly go to EU and collect my paycheck." Now, this might seem like a random comment, but it is enormous because of the backstory involved.
For months now, Punk has taken a dim view of the EU FGC as he believes that they are 'free' or easy to beat. This position has come under challenge considering Punk suffered defeats in both Red Bull Kumites (London and Las Vegas) to Europeans, Mister Crimson at Red Bull Kumite London, and Problem-X at Red Bull Kumite Las Vegas. However, it seems Punk is still of the opinion that the NA scene is better than the European one.
The responses to his tweet have been entertaining, and that in itself would have been an interesting story, but it gets even more fascinating after someone mentioned Mister Crimson and then Punk responded that if anyone is willing to sponsor Mister Crimson, he'd still back an NA player over him.

Oh, but there's more. Mister Crimson in a tweet also responded stating that he wouldn't want to use other people's money, but that he is ready for a $1000 money match if Punk will be the opponent. This has, of course, led to some very interesting reactions with people very interested in the idea of a money match between these two, especially with such an interesting backstory.
The Punk/Mister Crimson feud has been one of the more recent sagas of the FGC. The two seemed to get into it at the last Red Bull Kumite (London) earlier this year, and it got so bad that organizers at that event had to intervene before things got more heated. Eventually, the two settled the score in the only way the FGC recognizes— a set in top 8. Mister Crimson was victorious, and he went on to win the whole thing. Even more recently, Mister Crimson and Punk also faced off against each other in this season's Street Fighter League with Punk on Team Panda and Mister Crimson with Vodafone Giants. Once again, Mister Crimson was victorious when the two paired off in a first to two set.
