Sean Simpson, otherwise known as "Shine" made some history becoming the first ever fighting game player to sign with 100 Thieves, an American esports organization with international repute.
As has been the situation of recent, orgs are scrambling for fighting game players with the Esports World Cup coming up in the summer, and 100 Thieves is no different. They plopped for Shine as he has already qualified via Street Fighter League world championship along with his fellow teammates, Punk, Psycho (who has since been signed by Virtus.Pro) and ChrisCCH (who declined the invitation and has been replaced by Fuudo).
Shine is a top American player who very regularly places high in events and is easily one of the strongest players from the East Coast.
Shine stated that he is excited to start out with 100 Thieves and that he will be representing them at Combo Breaker which is taking place later this month.
