Creators of Dragon Ball decided to reconsider Broly’s personality and release a new incarnation in the anime DB Super. This form of Broly is less violent. In FighterZ, Broly (DBS) is a rushdown grappler with great projectiles and combo potential but also with rather punishable and slow normals.Know more

Broly is a powerful fighter in different forms: one from the Dragon Ball Z series and one from Dragon Ball Super. The first incarnation (known as Broly in DBFZ) had a very dramatic experience in his childhood that probably led to the split personality disorder and some very violent instincts coming out in the fights. The second form, Broly (DBS), is kind of a revised version, much softer in nature, with social awkwardness, but still a pretty difficult fate.
Broly in Dragon Ball Super also surprised his people, Saiyans, with an amazing power level, 10,000. King Vegeta got scared of this might and of the threat this kid might become for the throne. But instead of killing the baby, King Vegeta decided to exile him to a remote wild planet.
Paragus found his son very soon. He decided to train Broly hard and make him a decent warrior — to take revenge on King Vegeta. The father’s feelings are doubtful as Paragus considers Broly mostly as a destruction tool. Still, Broly himself has deep feelings towards Paragus and really cares for him.
When Frieza fights Paragus and kills him, Broly becomes so desperate that he loses internal control and turns into a Legendary Super Saiyan. In this state, his sadistic fighting personality makes the guy attack everyone around and battle for the sake of battle. Broly almost destroyed Goku and Vegeta after the father’s death. Then he jumps onto Frieza but loses all the interest when the opponent stops resisting. Broly returns to his usual calm and friendly personality only when Gogeta hits him with his Super Kamehameha.
Goku believes that Broly will be able to control his violent alter-ego after getting proper training. Still, most of the time, sliding into the Super Saiyan aggressiveness is not an issue for this guy.
As a playable character, Broly was added to Dragon Ball FighterZ with the FighterZ Pass 2, so he’s absent in the game story.
As a fighting character, Broly (DBS) is a rushdown grappler. His neutrals and projectiles are good for pushing the opponent to a corner and then starting long devastating combos. Broly (DBS) deals super big damage, and the main trick with him is to actually find a combo opening.
His projectiles have a very good range. Normals of Broly (DBS) are quite unsafe, but that is compensated for by their big hitboxes.
As the other form of Broly, this character “consumes” many resources. His mix-up options and normals are slow.
