The Ken master was the winner for the second time running
Chris Tartarian was the winner of the second World Warrior event for the USA West Coast after defeating second placed Nephew 3-2 and is now secure in top spot on the leaderboard going into the third tournament.
ChrisT won the first tournament with Ken and he was relentless once again ensuring that Nephew who switched to Modern Chun li specifically for this match, wasn't able to take it to a reset.
Chris T's victory was by no means easy as he had to overcome Samurai, JB and finally Nephew to win the competition.
The top 8 players on the leaderboard will play in the regional finals with the winner of that going to Capcom Cup. With so many players in contention, the competition is so hot right now.
However, Chris T has been going strong in Street Fighter 6 so far, and he is well-placed to make it to the showpiece finale next year.
The Grand Final saw Nephew, who had gone through a phenomenal losers' run beating ChrisCCH, Samurai, Wolfgang, and JB, switch from Juri to Chun li and he was looking like he would be able to get the reset. But, ChrisT adjusted and started taking initiative in the game to steal his turns back and it eventually led to his victory.
With this win, ChrisT was able to gather 100 points while Nephew sits in second spot with 80 points thanks to two second place finishes.
The World Warrior events for USA West Coast is being handled by Level Up Series and the third one will take place on the 19th and 20th of September 2023.
