REJECT, one of Japan’s leading esports organizations, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China-based esports team Wolves.
The MOU represents a collaborative partnership through which both organizations will explore ways to create value together. While the exact scope of the partnership has not been fully detailed, it is believed that it could include player collaborations and event partnerships in the future.
According to the official statement, both REJECT and Wolves plan to work together on promotional content, offline and online events, and potentially merchandise. Both organizations are active in multiple esports titles, but for fighting game fans, the most exciting angle is their shared involvement in the Street Fighter competitive scene.
REJECT currently competes in Street Fighter League (SFL) Japan, while Wolves participates in SFL Europe. It remains to be seen whether this MOU will extend to areas such as player sharing or joint team representation. If it does, it could open the door for Wolves to field REJECT players in SFL Europe, a possibility made more realistic by the fact that the European season has yet to begin, and team rosters are not finalized.
At the moment, Wolves has Hurricane and Takamura on its SFL EU roster. Meanwhile, REJECT boasts top players like AngryBird and BigBird. If both organizations choose to collaborate at the competitive level, fans could witness a powerhouse lineup under the Wolves banner in Europe this season.
