MenaRD Wins Topanga Championship 7

MenaRD has conquered another mountain on his way to the very summit of Street Fighter as he emerged as the winner of the Topanga Championship 7. MenaRD finished the final stage with five wins and one defeat, which came against Esports World Cup runner-up Hibiki.

Higuchi also ran MenaRD close with a similar record of five wins and one defeat, with his loss coming against MenaRD. This meant Mena won on head-to-head record and also boasted a better round differential.

Unfortunately, with the action behind a paywall, there wasn’t as much buzz as it would normally have generated.

MenaRD celebrated his win with a post on social media where he said he respects everyone and looks forward to Street Fighter League in a couple of days.

Dear athletes, I truly respect you all.

And to everyone, thank you so much for always cheering me on!

I'm really happy to be able to participate in this event.

And I'm also truly delighted to have achieved my goal.

But this time, what especially stuck with me is that everyone involved in this game in Japan is truly working so hard with all their might.

I received a lot of inspiration from all of you.

MenaRD will remain in Japan to partake in Street Fighter League with his team, ZETA DIVISION, and will look to help them climb to the summit of the Japanese team tournament. ZETA DIVISION has never won SFL, but with a team that has incredibly strong contenders like Higuchi, Yamaguchi, Momochi, and the addition of MenaRD, they are likely favorites for the new season.
