Top 8 For Street Fighter 6 At Evo Japan Is Set
It has been a bloodbath so far

Evo Japan 2025 has seen the biggest number of entrants for Street Fighter 6 since the first Evo tournament in the game's lifespan in 2023. That tournament saw over 7000 entrants all vying for top spot. This time, there were over 6000 entrants which just goes to show the popularity of Street Fighter 6 in Japan.

With so many players, it made for a gruelling toil to make top 8, and after a lot of fighting, there are now 8 players fighting for the top spot.

The top 8 are as follows:

  • Momochi
  • Ryukichi
  • MenaRD
  • Akira
  • Kobayan
  • Higuchi
  • NL
  • LeShar

For Ryukichi, it is a second top 8 in the last two years, while MenaRD is the defending champion and will be hoping to be the first player to win back-to-back Evo Japans for Street Fighter. Each player fought through a gauntlet to make it through.

NL has never made it to top 8 for Evo Japan and will, unfortunately, have to face off against his countryman, LeShar, to progress through the bracket. This top 8 also means that there is only one North American representative in MenaRD, with the bracket dominated by the hosts, with as many as 5 Japanese players in top 8.

The matches will be as follows:

  • Momochi vs Ryukichi
  • MenaRD vs Akira
  • Kobayan vs Higuchi
  • NL vs LeShar
