Tokido vs JabhiM RBK Match Hits 1 Million Views on YouTube

On the 2nd of July 2023, the best player in South Africa, JabhiM, faced one of the greatest players ever in Street Fighter, Tokido. 

The stage was at the Red Bull Kumite event taking place in South Africa. It was one of the first tournaments for Street Fighter 6 and was a chance for the world to acquaint themselves with the African scene. Some of the best players in the world were in attendance including iDom, Leffen, AngryBird, and Big Bird. 

But this one match captured the imagination of all. It was the ultimate David vs Goliath moment, and in a cacophony of noise rarely ever experienced in a gaming tournament, JabhiM won the set and defeated one of the gods of Street Fighter. It was an instant classic as Jabhi, using Chun li, took down Tokido's Ken. 

The fight which was then posted on YouTube by Red Bull Gaming garnered several views, but as of right now, it has surpassed a million views on YouTube. 

JabhiM made this known on his X (formerly Twitter) talking about the popularity of an underdog story. 

Having a million views on any video is no mean feat, but for a fighting game match to have that is really remarkable. For context, Evo's Grand Final for 2023 has 625,000 views, 2022's Evo Grand Final for Street Fighter V has 18,000, and 2019 Capcom Cup Grand Final featuring Punk and iDom has 109,000 views. 

At the moment, the only Street Fighter video that has more views is the classic Daigo vs Justin Wong which has about 13,000,000 views. 

JabhiM will be at Capcom Cup while Tokido will hope to be able to win a place at the prestigious tournament by winning the Capcom Pro Tour online premier for Japan which takes place this weekend, the 6th and 7th of January 2024.
