The Super Mario Bros. Movie Trailer Has Dropped

Nintendo and Universal Pictures officially reveal The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer. The video was presented as part of the Nintendo Direct stream. 

In addition to the premiere, Nintendo showed short interviews with the cast and Shigeru Miyamoto during the broadcast, where they shared new project details and talked about the series' legacy. 

The entire cast of the upcoming animated movie looks like this: Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike, and Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong. The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel. 

Horvath and Jelenic have previously worked on a full-length adaptation of another popular universe - Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. This movie was successful enough to gross over $52.1 million worldwide against a $10 million budget. 

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released in theatres on April 7, 2023, in the US and April 28, 2023, in Japan.
