HungryBox Announces New Smash Weekly Tourney With $1000 Pot
Singlehandedly keeping the scene alive

Hungrybox, a Smash pro player in both MIelee and UltimIate has announced a new weekly tournament for Smash Ultimate which he calls the Arcade Time K.O.

The tournament will have a pot of $1000 with the first place winner taking home 50% of the pot. The venue is at the recently opened Arcade Time entertainment spot in Orlando, Florida.

This is another way in which Hungrybox is supporting the Smash scene as he already runs the Coinbox which is a tournament for Smash.

With Nintendo’s refusal to support the competitive Smash scene, efforts such as this is what the community is left with, and Hungrybox has been at the forefront of it.

Hungrybox also mentioned that if the first few Smash Ultimate tournaments go well, he plans to extend to Melee and create something for that scene too.

The reception has been positive with many grateful that Hbox is still interested enough in the scene to do something that can keep the local community alive.

The first tournament will take place on the 12th of January 2026 and weekly from then on out.
