Tekken 8 Producer Responds to 'Josie Leak'
People might need to calm down

Earlier today, there was an apparent leak for Tekken 8 and it was reported that Josie, one of the new characters introduced in Tekken 7, will be making an appearance in the new game which should be out in a couple of weeks.

As is the case with anticipated games, there are leaks, and speculation especially about character releases. Street Fighter 6 suffered from this, and Tekken might have taken a hit.

According to the leak, Bandai Namco mistakenly uploaded a video of Josie online and quickly took it down, but not quickly enough for eagle-eyed fans to take note.

However, Tekken 8 producer, Michael Murray, appears to have poured cold water on the rumors tweeting that he wouldn't want anyone to get anxious over what he called a 'fake screen' especially if it turns out not to be true.

Now, Murray neither confirmed or denied the appearance of Josie which could very well be a possibility, but it does seem like in this case, there might be nothing to it.

Earlier, a user had opined that the screen was fake and that such a deception was fairly easy to pull off. He proved this by creating a similar screen but with Duke Nukem as the proposed new character being introduced.

A simple photoshop operation can do this which is why the information shouldn't be trusted.

It seems the base roster of Tekken 8 is already settled on with 32 character ready to be used at launch.

Tekken 8 will be released on the 26th of January 2024.
